Four NDL members attended the Spring meeting of the Materials Research Society in San Francisco delivering four presentations in two different symposiums: New Applications for Wide-Bandgap Semiconductors and Nanoscale Thermal Transport. Prof. Balandin gave a talk entitled Acoustic Phonon Spectrum Modification in Nanostructures and its Effect on Thermal Conductivity [PDF]. Yun Bao presented a poster co-authored with O. Lazarenkova and J.L. Liu entitled Quantum Dot Crystals as New Materials for Thermoelectric Applications [PDF]. Konstantin Filippov presented a poster on Thermal Boundary Resistance and Heat Diffusion in AlGaN/GaN Heterostructures [PDF]. Dmitri Kotchetkov presented a poster entitled Thermal Conductivity of Polycrystalline GaN Films [PDF]. Large participation in MRS meetings by the group members continues three-year old NDL tradition.
